Objectives:The aim of the study was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of Lasix (furosemide) in acute congestive heart failure patients.
Methods:A prospective study was performed on a group of patients admitted to the hospital with acute congestive heart failure. The patients received oral Lasix (Furosemide, 50 mg daily) for 3 months and then another treatment was carried out at the same time of the day. The patients were monitored for any adverse effects and the patients were monitored regularly for the occurrence of clinical signs such as chest pain, diaphoresis, and diuresis.
Results:The incidence of clinical signs, including diaphoresis, decreased during the study period and was higher in patients who received Lasix.
Conclusion:The results of this study indicate that the incidence of clinical signs was not decreased during the 3 months of treatment.
